Privacy Policy

SetSteady ("we", "us") is a fitness-accountability app that verifies you showed up to the gym and helps you keep a consistent routine with a small private crew. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

What we collect

• Account — your email address and a display name, to create and secure your account.
• Location — when you tap "check in" or "confirm", we read your device's current location at that moment to verify you are at your saved gym. We do not track your location in the background or continuously, and we do not store your live coordinates beyond the verification check. We store the location of the gyms you choose to save.
• Health (steps) — if you connect Apple Health, we read your daily step count to measure progress toward a steps goal. We only read steps; we never write to Health, and we never share your health data. Apple Health data is handled in line with Apple's requirements and is not used for advertising.
• Activity & usage — your gym sessions, goals, streaks, freezes, crew membership and reactions, and in-app analytics events (e.g. screens viewed, check-ins, notification opens) that help us understand and improve the product and build features that support your consistency.
• Notifications — a push notification token so we can send you the reminders and crew updates you enable.

How we use it

• To verify gym attendance and track your goals, streaks and crew activity.
• To send the notifications you've turned on.
• To understand usage and improve the app, including building features that help users stay consistent. Analytics are tied to your account and are not sold or shared for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use trusted infrastructure providers to run the app: Supabase (database, authentication and serverless functions) and Expo (push notification delivery). They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Where your data is processed

Your account and app data are stored and processed in the United Kingdom (our database and backend run in a UK region). Push notifications are delivered through Expo, which may process a limited amount of data — such as your notification token and message content — on servers outside the UK/EEA; this is covered by Expo's data-processing terms.

Legal basis for processing (UK/EU)

Under UK and EU data-protection law, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent for location and Apple Health (steps) data — which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings; performance of a contract to provide the core service (your account, sessions, goals, streaks and crew); and our legitimate interests in understanding usage and improving the app, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from You → Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and associated data (sessions, goals, streaks, freezes, crew membership, reactions, saved gyms, push tokens and analytics events). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Your controls

• You can revoke location, Health, or notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
• You can tune which notifications you receive in the app.
• You can remove saved gyms, leave a crew, or delete your account.

Children

SetSteady is not directed to children under 13, or older where your country sets a higher minimum age for digital consent, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
